The project focuses on multifaceted research addressing the important societal issue of food production within urban areas while sustainably utilizing environmental resources and implementing a zero-waste economy. These studies have international and cross-sectoral significance in creating model new branches of ecosystem services essential for the functioning of low-carbon and low-water footprint cities. The project focuses on local management systems based on closed-loop urban agriculture models, creating new opportunities for the utilization of urban areas to increase their self-sufficiency, which is a premise of rational spatial management.
